Senior IC Layout Design Engineer

Qualifications:
– MASc or BASc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree + 3 years of relevant experience in Analog/Mixed-Signal full-custom layout
– Experience in deep submicron CMOS (28nm or below)
– Experience in FinFET technologies is an asset
– Recent hands on experience with Cadence Virtuoso and Virtuoso-XL tools and environment
– Experience in SKILL programming, Mentor Calibre DRC/LVS/PERC, and Apache Totem EM & IR analysis is a plus
– Comprehensive understanding of the target process to balance layout and design needs, e.g. crosstalk, RC delay, electro-migration, IR drop, self-heating, shielding, matching, guard rings and latch up
– Experience in layout lead roles and top-level layout integration is an asset
– Experience in high-speed analog layout is an asset
– Knowledge of analog design fundamentals including one of: SerDes, ADC/DAC, high-speed digital, RF, PLL is a plus
Responsibilities:
– Deliver on project assignments with integrity, commitment, and excellence
– Efficiently layout sensitive RF, Analog and Mixed Signal circuits conforming to all physical design verification (PDV) requirements while balancing demanding area, performance, and power specifications
– Identify quality and reliability improvements in IC circuit and layout design
– Support or perform design verification from sub-block up through top-level
– Collaborate effectively with local and remote team members
– Develop accurate layout design schedules and resource estimates
– Proactively look for continuous improvement opportunities in the flow, layout and design methodologies
